All students participated in the dissection of the sheep eye. It was a great learning experience. The class started with guest speaker Dr. Ferguson, a scientist who studies opthamology and immunology at Washington University. The students then experienced hands on learning where they got to dissect the sheep eye. Pictures are posted in the photo gallery.
6th grade students are studying the country of India and finishing up our mystery unit. During the India unit students have been working on note taking skills and will work on a group poster project. 7th grade students completed their unit "Menagerie of the Mind". This was a unit on geopgraphy and zoology. They studied the country Mexico and answered the question "How does geography shape a country?". 8th grade students are completing chapter 6 on the Revolutionary War. They will be publishing a newspaper written from the point of view of patriots and loyalists. We will begin our Odyssey of the Mind journey this week. Students will be using divergent thinking, cooperative learning and creative problem solving. Below you will find some helpful links for parents during our journey. The unit "Think Tank" is about to wrap up. Students were companies developing products to earn money for the most creative and elaborate invention.
